After a few minutes on Bandlab, I was able to remix the mono recording of "I Just Don't Know If I Can" into stereo, as no such version of the song exists. Recorded in January 1965 in a session with Shelby Singleton, "I Just Don't Know" was the only song from the session to be released, debuting in March of 1966 as the B-side of Gore's single "Young Love." 60 years ago today, on March 30, 1963, Lesley Gore recorded "It's My Party" at Bell Sound Studios in New York City. "We went into the studio at two o'clock in the afternoon, and came out at five o'clock, on budget, on time, with three songs cut and mixed." Rush-released three days later on April 2, "It's My Party" exploded onto the charts, and by June 1, the song was #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

To commemorate the 55th anniversary of its intended release, I have put together Lesley Gore's album, "Magic Colors", in the way it was intended to be heard. All of the songs were compiled in their correct configuration, which I determined through researching Lesley's archives and manuscripts from the New York Public Library. Recorded for her 1968 album "Dusty... Definitely". This may be one of Dusty's most beautiful recordings. The footage was taken from a 1969 TV special in which she sang compositions by Charles Aznavour, along with some of her recordings from "Definitely" and "Dusty in Memphis".
